Pop-Up Garden

Pop-Up Garden was developed as a participatory grassroots project with NGO SNEHA (Society for Nutrition Education and Health Action) to provide privacy for women in the city. The structure uses a variety of plants to create a semi-private and productive outdoor space, to grow edible, medicinal, fragrant and air-filtering plants. It also contains composting units that convert kitchen waste into plant food to sustain the garden; the shaded outdoor-room measures 3m x 3m and was designed to be used for activities such as gardening; talking privately or in a group; relaxing; enjoying tea; exercising and reading the paper.
